KSA, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a country in Western Asia is the demise. There are many factors behind the failure of the Arabian state. But, ware against Muslim brothers is the fatal one.
Since 2015, the Kingdom is openly fighting proxy wars against Iran. As you know wars only create chaos in the region. Islam is the religion of peace, but, killing Muslim brothers is not part of the religion. KSA is trying to be a regional power with the help of an iron brother, United States of America.
Nowadays, Arabian states are opting out of Arab Spring and forming ties with enemies. For instance, the UAE’s move to make bilateral ties with the Jewish state is the latest development. There is a massive pressure on KSA to accept Israel. The acceptance of the Israeli state raises my questions on the unity of Muslim Ummah.
Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is another failure for the Muslim states. The organization exists since 1969; however, it did not make a significant impact in the world. The problems for the states remain unsolved. Neither prosperity nor security comes for Muslim countries. Like the Palestine issue, Kashmir issue, and, most importantly Maymanmar ethnic cleansing. It was hoped, the organization might solve the problems but all in vain.
In the Middle East, money comes with Oil. The time is not far away when solar energy and other forms of energy will replace coal energy. The danger for the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). To address this challenge many policies were formed but nothing makes the great impact till this day. As the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud launched Saudi Vision 2030. Through this, a framework will be established to reduce Saudi Arabia’s dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, recreation, and tourism.
Slavery in KSA in the form of the Kafala System is still rampant in the 21st century. It is used to monitor migrant labourers, working primarily in the construction and domestic sectors in Gulf Cooperation Council member states. Unfortunately, KSA is not the only country which enslaves the foreign worker’s other countries include Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Proxy War in Yemen
As George Santayana rightly said, “Only the dead have seen the end of the war.” Saudis are fighting a proxy war in Yemen. The American and Arabian relation are decade old; in that period a massive amount of artillery, missiles and defence system has bought by the Arabian state. Now the state is using all these resources to be a Middle Eastern power. The Kingdom thinks this is a war to end all wars. But, it is not the case. The Saudis are making more foes than friends.
2019 Abqaiq–Khurais attack
On 14 September 2019, drones were used to attack the state-owned Saudi Aramco oil processing facilities at Abqaiq and Khurais in Saudi Arabia. Despite having sophisticated weaponry and the latest defence system, Arabian prosperity is vulnerable to strikes. A few minutes of strike can nullify the prosperity and change the status quo. Unfortunately, the Kingdom does not even have the prof from whom and where the attacks were launched. KSA and USA blamed Iran for the attack; however, the Iranian leader stated, “those who make the allegations must provide the needed proof. What is your evidence?”
Conclusion
To sum up, prosperity for the Kingdom comes from petroleum money, however, the status quo is changing rapidly. Being an Islamic state and war with other Muslim state is not an appreciating thing to do in the first place. The Kingdom is dancing on the commands of the United States of America. The time is not far away the US will shift his position and left the Kingdom to sink like Titanic ship.
