seminar hand raising

Student Activism is on the rise in Pakistan. Student Solidarity March is held in Pakistan for the deteriorating students of rights, social issues the students face in universities. Students of Pakistan shows a peaceful protest in the 50 cities around Pakistan to lift the ban on student unions and rights of the students. Lawyers and other unions part take in this show.

Moreover, students play a crucial role in forming the direction of the future of any nation or state. However, if students do not part take in any sort of social activities; then, in which direction students will go.

Student unions are the core in the Indian Sub-Continent who make it possible that we can breathe in the open air. However, if students do not play a vital role; then we would be suffering the same oppression as Kashmiris.

The Student Solidarity March takes place in Lahore, Friday, Nov 29, 2019, from Nasir Bagh to Charring Cross. The students participate in March who belong to different institutes.

There is a dire need to address the issues the students are facing in Pakistan. The PTI lead government by PM Imran Khan to cut the budget for education from Rs. 103bn to Rs. 59bn. However, spending on education sector was already minimal. It will further worsen the situation.

Harassment of students is also prevalent everywhere. It is one of many problems the students suffer. The government should save make policies to eliminate this rising epidemic. The student unions should allow operating in the country.

To sum up, the students are on the way to speak for their rights. It is a good sign of the future leaders will have leadership skills. It is wise to eliminate extremism, not the future of the nation.

How eRozgaar is Bringing Prosperity to Thousands?

e-rozgaar

eRozgaar is playing a vital role to eliminate poverty across Punjab Province.

eRozgaar is initiative of PITB which is working under the banner of the Punjab Government. It is one of the successful programs of the provincial government. It is estimated that they have trained more than fifteen thousand candidates.

The Programm is one of the successful programs of the Board. The main objective of the program is to polish the skills of unemployed youth; make them aware of the ways of online jobs. Many guys are earning handsome amount of money with little headache.

In November, this year, there was an interaction with one of the teams of eRozgaar in Lahore in the premises of UET. According to the attendees, the course is informative, well structured; and the staff is cooperative.

Twice a year, all the universities across Punjab export hundreds of thousands of youth with many certificates having minimal skills. What is the use of the degree if a student is unaware of the core values of life. The main goal of the institutions of Pakistan is on quantity, not on quality.

In Balochistan, the western province of Pakistan, the education standards are low. In most of the school, ghost teachers exist who only exist in government records.

Around the globe, teaching is a noble profession; on the contrary, in Pakistan, it is the most profitable business. The ones who don’t even know the basics of teaching open colleges.

To encapsulate, none of the programs can make a long-lasting impact without feasibility analysis, planning and practical implementation. Undoubtedly, e-Rozgaar is making a massive impact. It is an ideal project of the  PITB. Sindh, KPK and Balochistan should also launch similar projects to bring opportunities to the youth.

Industrial Revolution a Curse or Blessing

hands

Industrial Revolution made a lot of ease for the human being. The positive effects of the Revolution were already visible. However, the negative impacts are on the rise, since then. The President of the United States also created Superior National Forest to save the beauty of Earth. Since the beginning of the 20th century, many initiatives are on the way to reduce the negative impacts of this so-called Industrial Revolution.

The average temperature of Earth is increasing day by day because of the emission of Green House Gases such as Methane and CO2. Many initiatives, conventions and conferences are taking place to overcome this emerging threat; however, it is not the environment works. According to IPCC by the end of this century, the average temperature of the planet will rise 2.5-degree centigrade. The rise in temperature is, directly and indirectly, the threat to the ecosystem of the earth. This will further speed up the process of melting of glaciers.

The melting of glaciers will bring many disasters and will change the demography of the continents and states. There are areas in northern Pakistan, Siberia and plateau which remain cover all year. The glaciers are like that since ancient times. Under the top layer of the earth, a segment called Permafrost to exist. It is a fact that dead bodies of animals do not decompose in permafrost. With the melting of glaciers, it will lead to many epidemical diseases.

Lahore Development Authority – Refused to Build a Bridge

Container

A few weeks ago, the gardener of UET Lahore died in an accident in front of the gate on the GT Road. The management committee of UET decided to approach the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and requested to build a pedestrian crossing bridge for the safety of students as well as staff in front of the main gate. However, LDA refused to do so; yes, refused it.

During the visit of Shalimar Bagh, while I was passing in front of the Varsity, what I see was tremendous. The Development Authority only agreed to build a speed breaker. Probably, this will or will not reduce the frequency of accidents; but a bridge is mandatory.

It is because there is always a massive influx of traffic can be seen during office hours. There is also heavy traffic such as trucks which often overloaded. The varsity is situated on one of the busy roads of Lahore; this is the one which dates to Sher Shah Suri times. The historic highway connects Peshawar with Indian City Agra.

Occasionally, the ignorant one’s race on the newly constructed road and perform different sort of immoral activities such as wheeling, racing and making a video of their actions.
Most importantly, all the Pakistan-India trade pass through Wagha Border and as well as in front of UET gate.

It is not the only problem which is remained being unaddressed. There is also massive pollution in Lahore; all types of Solid Waste, Noise and most importantly, Air pollution. The institutions are not working or making the full use of the resources.

To sum up, one accepts it or not; the pedestrian crossing bridge is necessary for the well-being of the students and the ones who visit the Varsity.

India is Not a Secular State, How?

Indian Flag

India, the home of 1.3 billion peoples; this is the home of many different nations that are living in the Indian sub-continent since before Christ. Now the case is different, the Hindus are making efforts from head to toe to perish the minorities. Many events are gigantic evidence that Hindustan is for Hindus. India is not a secular state. The fascist PM, Narendra Modi, is perishing the rights of the Muslim population in India.

The Modi tried to perish the innocent Muslims in Kashmir by abrogating the special status of the princely state on August 5th this year. It’s been two and a half months the innocent Kashmiris are barred into Jails and the communication services are jammed. It is the extreme level of humanitarian crisis; the Muslims are the main target of this genocide.

Babri Masjid is one of the other favoritisms to the Hindu community. The case dates to 1992 when the Holy place of Muslims was perished by Hindus and many causalities occurred. The case registered into the apex court. The case remains being postponed for 30 years. In November this year, the Court announced the verdict which spoke in the favor of Hindus.

To encapsulate, in India every community is minority except Hindus and the rights of minorities are denied. It is the era of the 21st century the International community should make some effort to establish peace; law and order and bring justice to the continent.

How Microsoft Never Flourished in WWW

microsoft icon on keyboard

Microsoft is a well-known company by everyone around the globe. It is the era of the digital world everybody uses gadgets to bring ease in life. They have a lot of reputation in the computer operating system. However, it failed badly in Mobile technologies and never flourished well in the World Wide Web. In my view, Microsoft is trying very hard to grasp some share in Web Technologies, but it is not working for them.

Microsoft’s defunct Internet Explorer and currently Edge, only those users who have integration with other products. Since last week, I’m using Edge for my day to day activities; it is worst than I imagined. Sometimes pages don’t load; often, the information on the pages is missing. Last year in June, I was in the conference on Web Technologies held in Lahore; the presenter said that every Windows user uses Microsoft Browser to download other browsers. Virtual Private Network is also an important product of today’s era.

The personal computer OS leader, Microsoft, is failing badly in the World Wide Web (WWW) technologies as it failed in Mobile Operating System. The team tried many times to establish its market but failed man times. As a wise man said, mind your own business. On the other hand, Google has a good repute in web technologies.

Google, which is pioneering in Computing Technologies, is offering Open Source browser Google Chrome. The company has a massive influx of users around the globe. It is estimated that around 90 percent of the web users access WWW through Chrome.

To sum up, no one cannot completely rely on Microsoft Edge because of its errors and bugs. In spite of that, the Edge team is continually adding new features; but, with all that, it still does not worth using. It is because, nowadays, there is a lot of competition in the tech industry.

The Living Standards of Pakistan

The flood water is poured into the town.

In the 2018 elections, the PTI established a government in the centre and in a few provinces on the name of change. There was a manifesto of the Party was to create Naya Pakistan. However, after being in the centre around a year and a half, it doesn’t change a lot.

A few days ago, I was in the market to buy something vegetables and fruits, however, everything is so expensive. The vegetables are twice or thrice as compare to previous prices. Is this being the change the manifesto of the party promised?

Now, the question arises that how the poor can feed their children. The ones who earn only a small amount of money. How a person can educate their children. There are many problems in the country but making dozens of taxes on poor people and shutting the public and private industry sectors. Was it the PTI promised?

According to the census of Pakistan, above sixty per cent of Pakistan are below the 30-year-old. There is a lot of potential for the growth, and, uplift of the economy. Most of the youth are just free and looking for an opportunity that can pave the pay for a sustainable life.

The Imran Khan, the Prime Minister, the cricketer, made many promises; he is trying from the bottom of the heart to get the country out of the debt trap, albeit it isn’t the way as Khan is thinking.

Above all, the standards of living cannot be improved without creating opportunities for the common people. There are many industries in the public and private sector are rotting due to hurdles made by the Government. Further, everybody should contribute his share to uplift the country. A wise man said, none of the nations succeeds with only making plans; but, by implementing plans.

The Air Quality of Lahore is Deteriorating Day by Day

Industrial Pollution

AIR is one of the crucial elements for the survival of human beings in the world. Undoubtedly, the Industrial Revolution brought many evolvements; however, it brought certain consequences among them is air pollution.

Lahore, the city of more than 11 million people is suffering from inner pollution and outer air pollutants. The inner are those which are being emitted by their industry. However, the outer pollutants are those which travels through air and mostly come from India. The air quality of the City is worsening day by day.

It is estimated that the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Lahore is 484 and is increasing. AQI is a standard to measure Air and lesser it is the better it will be; therefore, 300 is the threshold. The geographical location of Pakistan is bringing good and bad things. It is helping her to connect north and south but she is facing some negative impacts; which are becoming more visible day by day. Pakistan is one of the countries which is adversely affecting Climate Change.

There is no single cause to this emerging problem which is rising at a high pace. The traffic pollution emits a major chunk in the pollution. Moreover, industrial and agriculture also emit 10 to 20 per cent each. Advancement in both of the industries is necessary to prevent further worsening the situation.

To encapsulate, it is not an individual or some specific genera issue. Therefore, we have to make collective efforts to address this issue. The effort won’t be for a specific group of people; it is for the survival of human beings.
